If you are keen on Los Angeles, you really need to talk to someone who is from there. I've visited several times (my aunt and my brother both lived there). Watts isn't a nice place to live (too much crime) and neither is Hollywood (too much drug activity). Northridge is nice. Long Beach can be nice (though I have read it has a higher number of registered sex offenders living there, because the surrounding communities won't allow them to live there). San Marino is nice too, though expensive to live in. Pasadena is a nice area. Simi Valley is nice as well. I liked Burbank, but I wasn't there are night, so I'm not 100% sure about that one.
The unreleased song "Hell Hotel" is based on "A Nice Place to Visit". According to producer Bill Krauss, the song references the episode's plot and lead actor Sebastian Cabot.
